Setup can be accomplished in under 4 hours by as few as 3 non-skilled individuals
does the building need to travel empty?
No. All the necessary supplies and equipment can remain in the building while it is being transported and set up. The building can be transported by truck or helicopter and dropped into place with all necessary equipment safely stored inside and can be unfolded and set up with all contents intact.
how can the buildings be transported?
Shelter+ Transport can be shipped via train, truck, boat, airplane, helicopter, or light pickup truck.
Does the building require any special site preparations?
No. The foundation and supports are part of the building itself so the only requirement for the building to be set up is a relatively stable site to support the weight of the foundation and building itself. Rocky or rough terrain is no problem for this building.
Can i connect utilities to the building, such as electricity and water?
Shelter+ Transport has quick-connect capabilities so you can set up external services like electricity, water, and waste removal. The building is able to use nearly any external utility imaginable including electrical, radio, water, and waste removal so it can support any kind of operation.
Is the building habitable or temperature controlled?
Shelter+ Transport is pre-insulated to provide comfortable shelter all the way down to -20° F. Air conditioning and modern comforts can be integrated into the building to provide a comfortable environment for all occupants.
what is the average life cycle of one of these buildings?
The Shelter+ Transport design will provide a long life cycle of up to 20 years in general use. Applications that include harsher climates, unstable surfaces, or unreliable services could shorten the overall life of the unit.
Can the building be configured with additional rooms?
A functional kitchenette, bathroom, or other facilities can be built into the center of the building providing for private and functional facilities to fit a variety of use cases.
is the building suitable for residential use?
Yes. Shelter+ Transport can be designed to fulfill many of the requirements of tiny house consumers and could be used as a portable residence if configured with full services and appliances.
What building sizes are available?
Shelter+ Transport comes in three basic sizes: a 20’ long version with 450 square feet when fully expanded, a 30’ long version with 675 square feet when expanded, and a 40’ long version with 920 square feet after expansion.
